A man in Albany was arraigned in federal court on March 1 for alleged crimes, according to local sources. The 38-year-old New York man faces drug crime charges as well as firearms offenses. It is not clear whether he is still in police custody at this time, but it has been confirmed that the case is being investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

A Bronx resident has been arrested for allegedly possessing enough fentanyl to kill a million people. Reportedly, the illicit drug was hidden with boxes of chili and fish. At first the police thought the drug was cocaine, but lab tests apparently identified it as fentanyl, which is about 50 times more powerful than heroin. The New York Police Department had apparently been watching the accused for a suspected drug crime for some time.

Nine men and two women are facing a number of charges in relation to the trafficking of heroin and fentanyl. The alleged New York drug crime took place on the streets of Manhattan, Staten Island and Brooklyn as well as a neighboring state, according to police. The feds said that the group apparently even tried to tempt people who were in drug rehab. Police are still looking for one of the suspects as the other 10 are in custody.

The scent of pot leads to drug possession charge

The pungent odor of marijuana led police to a driver who, they say, was stashing the pot in his vehicle. The rookie New York Police Department officers drove by the man as he was about to enter his SUV, but purportedly hesitated when he spotted the police. Because of that, the rookies, who were being trained by a veteran cop, stopped to investigate. They say they discovered marijuana in his vehicle, and the man is now facing a drug possession charge.

An ex con is facing a battery of charges, including murder, in connection with an incident at a bar recently. The 30-year-old was nabbed by police in Harlem after he allegedly shot a man in the head at a popular Times Square bar, after the man spoke to the girlfriend of the accused outside the bar. The New York resident is also charged with criminal possession of marijuana and criminal possession of a controlled substance with the intent to sell. Police said he had the drugs on him at the time of his arrest.

Drug crime: Alleged drug dealer uses victim's phone to make deal

A drug dealer allegedly sold heroin laced with fentanyl to a woman who overdosed on the drug. The same man was apparently caught trying to set up another drug deal with the deceased woman's cell phone. The alleged pusher, who hails from Brooklyn, was part of a massive New York drug bust in a police sting operation last year in an effort to thwart drug crime.

Drug crime plentiful in New York City; hub of drug trade

Drug trafficking threatens the security of the United States, according to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). New York City, authorities say, is the apex of drug crime in the nation, thanks to the city housing a number of illegal aliens who play a large part in the drug problem. In fact, statistics show that non-natives of the United States make up at least 60 percent of drug-related arrests in New York City.

6 New York residents arrested on drug crime charges

A recent raid on a Long Island home resulted in the arrests of six people. Police seized a number of drugs, including cocaine and $60,000 in cash. Police had four search warrants to try to nab the suspects in connection with the alleged New York drug crime. The arrests came after a lengthy narcotics investigation.

Ten people are facing charges over a million-dollar drug ring. The drug charges stem from a ring allegedly operating out of the Bronx. Police said the suspects had been under surveillance during the time they allegedly sold more than 6,500 pounds of marijuana with a street value of about $22 million. The time frame, cops said, was between March 2016 to October 2017.
