STREET CRIME DEFENSE WITH NO JUDGMENT

Men facing burglary, robbery charges among others

| Aug 3, 2014 | Theft & Property Crimes |

A 24-year-old Wingdale man pleaded guilty to multiple counts of larceny and robbery, for which he will be sentenced to prison time in October. A plea deal allowed for the man to consolidate charges from multiple cases. Most recently, he was accused of robbing a man’s home in New Milford.

According to the homeowner, the man stole a bottle of Percocet, jewelry, a camcorder and a laptop. In all, the items were worth approximately $4,400.

The homeowner told police he suspected a man of the burglary who recently visited his home after being released from prison. However, this was not the same man who was charged with multiple counts and sentenced to prison.

After an investigation in which authorities received anonymous tips, both men were picked out of a police lineup by friends who had been with them on the day of the crime.

The second man involved in the burglary faces charges of third-degree criminal mischief, third-degree larceny, and third-degree burglary. He is set to make his way to court on Aug. 21.

This story shows that some people make poor decisions for a variety of reasons. While some people act alone when committing such a crime, others do so with another person.

Burglary and robbery charges are very serious, both of which can land a person in trouble with the authorities. Along with this, in some cases, it can also lead to prison time. In the event that a person is suspected of such a crime, it is best for them to receive the appropriate legal advice without delay.
