| Mar 14, 2014 | Theft & Property Crimes |

Every crime is serious, however, robbing a bank is one that impacts a lot of people, as well as society as a whole. Authorities in the state of New York have arrested a man believed to have robbed a bank in Stockbridge, Massachusetts.

The man robbed a Lee Bank branch at approximately 4 p.m. on Monday, March 10, 2013. Fortunately, witnesses were able to provide police with information on the type of car he was driving, a blue Chevrolet truck with New York plates.

Later that day, New York State Police located the truck right across the state line. At this point, they arrested a 34-year-old man. According to recent reports, the man was arraigned and is being held without bail. Police also believe that the man was motivated to rob the bank by a drug addiction.

Stockbridge police have made it clear that he will be charged with larceny, assault and battery, and robbery charges in Massachusetts.

This story shows just how serious a bank robbery can be. In this case, a man robbed a Massachusetts bank and then attempted to flee to New York. However, before he was able to get too far, he was tracked down by New York State Police. Witnesses on the scene of the robbery helped ensure that the man was brought to justice without delay.

When somebody is arrested for such a serious crime, he or she often consults with a local criminal law attorney who is familiar with the law and how the court process will unfold. Advocacy is essential if faced with charges similar to this one.
