New York residents arrested on drug charges after investigation

| Feb 14, 2014 | Drug Charges |

The recent death of Philip Seymour Hoffman shocked many people in New York. According to local media reports that are based on unnamed police sources, four arrests came after information was gathered from the investigation into Hoffman’s death.

Hoffman was found at his home with a syringe in his arm. Police also found other syringes and a charred spoon. They also found a blood pressure drug and a muscle relaxant among various prescription medications.

Investigators also found more than 50 bags of heroin at his home. People who deal drugs often label the packages they sell with an identifying mark. The packages at Hoffman’s home identified them as Ace of Hearts or Ace of Spades.

Three men and one woman now face drug charges. A 22-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman both face charges of criminal use of drug paraphernalia, unlawful possession of marijuana, and criminal use of a controlled substance. A 48-year-old man and a 57-year-old man each face charges of felony criminal possession of a controlled substance. The 57-year-old man is also charged with criminal use of drug paraphernalia. Police have not officially stated if these arrests are in connection with the actor’s death.

The need to make money can sometimes mean resorting to illegal means to get that money. If you happen to get caught while you are doing something illegal or if your activities are discovered during an investigation, you might find yourself facing charges. When that occurs, it is vital that you answer the charges in an appropriate way. In order to do that, you have to understand the charges against you, as well as the potential consequences. Seeking the assistance of a New York criminal defense attorney might help you to gain the understanding necessary to answer the charges against you.
