New York rape suspect arrested in North Carolina

| Feb 7, 2014 | Sex Crimes |

Just the same as many large cities throughout the country, sex crimes are entirely too common in New York City. Fortunately, police do whatever they can to protect the population in and around the Big Apple.

Recently, a man wanted in connection with a New York City area rape was arrested in Charlotte, North Carolina. According to the U.S. Marshals Service, the 35-year-old man was taken into custody on Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2014.

He is wanted for a variety of crimes, including first degree rape, second degree rape, first degree rape with personal injury, first degree sexual abuse, endangering the welfare of a child with personal injury, and first degree sexual conduct against a child.

Along with federal authorities, the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office and Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department stepped in to provide assistance in tracking down and arresting the man.

Due to the fact that the man is wanted in connection with crimes committed in New York City, he is currently in jail with extradition proceedings pending. Soon enough, he will find himself back in New York, facing prison time for the crimes he is accused of.

There is no place in the world for sex crimes, however, this is something that plagues many parts of the United States. In this case, a man was arrested in North Carolina for crimes he committed in New York City.

Being accused of a sex crime, regardless of the charges, is serious. For this reason, being in this position often calls for the assistance of a criminal law attorney.
